Senate election to be held in November
About a week ago, Ronnie Musgrove asked me at a restaurant what I thought the Court would do. I started, “Well, the statute can really be read either way….” and before I could finish my sentence, Musgrove, as he often does, interrupted and said, “No it can’t! 98% of the lawyers I’ve talked to say the election has to be held within 90 days.”
Sorry, Ronnie. I don’t know which 98% of the lawyers you were talking to, but 77% of the Mississippi Supreme Court, that’s a 7 – 2 decision, just ruled the other way.
