Jim Hood restarts fight with State Farm
Apparently, State Farm and the Attorney General’s office must have had some back-and-forth about a potential subpoenaing of State Farm, leading to a letter in which State Farm said no, it would not respond to a subpoena.
And now, against (at least my) expectations, on January 18th, Hood filed a motion to reopen the State Farm v. Hood case.
My reaction: WTF? This can’t be a desire to work out the finer details of the abstention doctrine (under which, one court can refuse to hear a case another court is already handling). If anyone has any better theories about what all this means, the comments await them.
