House keeps rule requiring super majority

It will still take a two-thirds vote for the House membership to pull a bill out of committee and have it before the full chamber for consideration.

And when the full House is in session, it will be videocast live on the Internet, if details of how to do that can be worked out with public broadcasting.
Videocasting the House and the number of votes needed to pull legislation out of committee were the two main issues debated Friday as the House passed rules to govern the chamber for the four-year term.

The issue of the number of votes it would take to pull a bill out of committee lasted about 90 minutes and was much more intense.
