From Langston’s Guilty Plea hearing

At the end of the transcript, there’s a moment where the lawyers are all telling the court they are done, and the judge apparently notices that Joey Langston has something to say. Here’s the exchange:

Judge Mills: Scotty [the marshal, I think], you can let him meet with probation first and then you take him back there, and let’s not get into all that handcuff stuff if we can avoid it.

Mr. Holmes: That’s fine.

Judge Mills: Can you behave, Mr. Langston?

Joey Langston: Yes, sir.

Judge Mills: All right. Is there anything else from either side?

Tom Dawson [the ass’t U.S. attorney]: No, sir.

Anthony Farese [defense attorney]: No, sir.

Judge Mills: Yes, sir?

Joey Langston: I’m embarrassed and ashamed.

Judge Mills: Yeah.

Joey Langston: And I should be.

Judge Mills: You’ve earned it.

Joey Langston: Yes, sir, I have.

Judge Mills: Court will be in recess.
