$3.5M secured for crime fighting

By: Magnolia Tribune - January 8, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger, 1/8/8

Over the next two years, crime will plummet in Jackson. The city’s worst criminals will be arrested. They will be prosecuted. They will be jailed.

This is the hope, at least, of a host of the state’s top law enforcement officials, who gathered Monday with Gov. Haley Barbour for a big announcement:

There is help coming.

Calling it “truly unprecedented,” Barbour said he is providing $3.5 million in federal grant money to law enforcement agencies in Jackson.
