The motion for continuance (pdf) filed today by the defendants in U.S. v. Scruggs is fair bursting with newsy goodies, the first of which is that, on December 7, the U.S. Attorney gave each of them his own personal copy of a 90-minute “consensual recording” (that would be Tim Balducci’s consent, one imagines) allegedly capturing the voices of all four — Dickie and Zach Scruggs, Sid Backstrom, and Steve Patterson — as they discussed whatever made said USA indict their butts.
