Scruggs, Patterson add lawyers
PATTERSON HIRES EASTLAND: Hiram C. Eastland Jr. of Greenwood has been hired as additional counsel for former state Auditor Steven Patterson, another of the five defendants in the judicial bribery case.
Kenneth Coghland of Oxford also represents Patterson, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Eastland is a distant relative of the late U.S. Sen. Jim Eastland.
