Provide new vision for the Jackson Police Department.
Restore morale by better equipping officers.
Seek better salaries for officers.
And try to increase available jail space for offenders.
City Council members, on a 4-2 vote, confirmed McMillin on Monday afternoon before a packed council chamber as friends and supporters cheered the sheriff-chief on.
