Will Dickie Scruggs roll over on bigger fish?

It is hard to imagine the kind of leverage the Feds now have on Dickie Scruggs.

They’ve indicted his son.
They have his co-conspirator on tape.
They have physical evidence (the jury consultant agreement and $40,000 check) in hand.
There is rumor that Balducci got pulled over earlier and has already started to sing.

But what if there are bigger fish?

Any father worth his title would do anything to keep his son out of jail. Scruggs may or may not believe that his goose is cooked. But the question remains . . . what if there are bigger fish to fry? What if a case could be made against Jim Hood? or Mike Moore?

Would you sacrifice your son to save a buddy? I know I wouldn’t. Not in a million years.
