Results indicating the defeat of Jackson-area lawmaker John Reeves won’t be certified until his challenge of the race is considered, election officials said Monday.
It’s not clear whether voting irregularities caused him to lose, they said.
Reeves filed a petition with the Hinds County Election Commission to challenge his defeat in the District 71 race. He maintains problems at four voting precincts cost him the election, and he wants the commission to determine the extent of poll-worker errors.
