Jackson Police Chief Shirlene Anderson on Wednesday appeared before a federal grand jury that – based on documents requested earlier by the FBI – may be meeting regarding previous actions taken by Mayor Frank Melton.
Anderson would not answer telephone calls after leaving the federal courthouse in downtown Jackson. On Tuesday, Anderson danced around the question of what she would discuss with the investigative panel.
At least three times in recent months, the FBI has subpoenaed documents related to the actions of Melton.
