Jim Hood: Cases have drawn powerful foes

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 5, 2007

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, 9/5/7

Jim Hood, a Chickasaw County native, terms being a Northeast Mississippi district attorney “the best job I ever had” because of the satisfaction he felt when shaking the hands of victims he had helped.

But Hood, Mississippi’s Democratic attorney general, said his current post is rewarding because he can help put in place policies that prevent crime and help a larger number of people.

“Attorneys general across the country have banded together to do some good things,” Hood told the Daily Journal editorial board Tuesday. “Sometimes companies or even government agencies won’t do something unless there is a threat of lawsuit.”
