Rickey Cole, Democratic nominee for state commissioner of agriculture, began a Wednesday speech by discussing a familiar topic – the failed Mississippi Beef Processors plant.
That 2004 beef plant, which saw $55 million of taxpayers’ money fund a cull cattle beef plant that was up and running for only three months, was Cole’s sharpest weapon in his hammering of incumbent Lester Spell. But it wasn’t the only one Cole wielded against his Republican opponent in the November general election.
