NICLOTT – NRA Grades Nic Lott an “A”

By: Magnolia Tribune - August 6, 2007

Conservative Republican Nic Lott received an “A” Grade from the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) in the August 7 Republican Primary for District 34 State Senate. His opponent refused to respond to the NRA.

“It is an honor to be endorsed by one of the most effective grassroots organizations in the country,” Nic Lott said. “As an NRA member, I don’t take our Second Amendment Rights for granted,” Lott added. “I will be been proud to fight for this Constitutional right in the State Senate.”

Lott has earned an “A” rating by the NRA, the highest grade possible by a non-incumbent, by supporting key legislation that protects Mississippi gun owners. Noted in the NRA questionnaire was Lott’s support of the NRA-backed “Castle Doctrine” self-defense law. This legislation gave families the right to defend themselves from an intruder in their home, car, or place of business by any means necessary.

Nic Lott is a candidate for the 34th Senate District of Mississippi. Recently a spokesman under Governor Haley Barbour’s administration, he is a former aide to Senator Trent Lott and Congressman JC Watts.
