State goes fishing in Fortune

By: Magnolia Tribune - July 27, 2007

The Sun Herald, 7/27/7

“From the earliest days of my administration we have worked hard to nurture partnerships that create new opportunities for our workers and businesses to prosper,” Gov. Haley Barbour wrote in the introduction to the special advertising section selling the merits of the state. “Building a vibrant, diversified economy with higher-paying, higher-skilled jobs remains our primary goal, and we’re moving forward together.”

The section’s inclusion in Fortune’s annual Global 500 special edition of the largest companies in the world makes the publicity even more exciting to state economic-development workers.
