Candidates make their pitch at Neshoba County Fair
Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Jim Hood tried to deflect attacks from his GOP opponent Al Hopkins.
Hopkins chastised Hood for hiring private attorneys to work on state cases and not sticking with Republican Gov. Haley Barbour on issues.
Hopkins supporters packed the pavilion holding signs and yelling “You’re fired” with prompting from the Gulfport resident.
“It’s time to hire a new attorney,” said Hopkins, a retired general. “It’s time to put a real general in the attorney general’s office.”
