Jackson City Council members today will consider selecting a new president and vice president of the body.
Council members have remained tight-lipped on who will be chosen. But until Allen resigned the votes often had been split 4-3 with Allen being joined in votes by Ward 2 Councilman Leslie McLemore, Ward 6 Councilman Marshand Crisler and Ward 7 Councilwoman Margaret Barrett-Simon. Most often supporting Melton were Bluntson, Ward 3 Councilman Kenneth Stokes and Ward 5 Councilman Charles Tillman.
