The Ethics Committee of the Mississippi Bar issued a statement on Thursday saying Jackson City Attorney Sarah O’Reilly-Evans was correct in refusing to sue Jackson Mayor Frank Melton on orders from a majority of City Council members.
The council members had earlier questioned O’Reilly-Evans’ loyalty when she insisted she could not sue one branch for the other.
