The Mississippi Association of REALTORS® (MAR), the state’s largest business trade association representing 6,500 real estate professionals, and the Northwest Mississippi Association of REALTORS® (NWAR), formally endorsed Senator Merle Flowers in his re-election effort during a news conference held at the NWAR office Thursday.

“Mississippi REALTORS® is proud to offer our endorsement and grassroots support to Senator Merle Flowers,” MAR’s Governmental Affairs Director Derek Easley told a crowd of more than 200 REALTORS® gathered for the announcement. “From supporting policies to making the dream of home ownership possible for more Mississippians to being a strong advocate for safer neighborhoods, Senator Flowers has been a champion at the capitol for strong communities.”

“The voice of REALTORS® is a powerful one,” Easley said. “When you factor in the relationships our members enjoy with their own families, friends, neighbors, clients and customers, we believe our association can influence thousands of voters in District 19. We are committed to using that collective influence to move our state forward. And that is the purpose of the announcement we’ve made today in supporting Merle.”

Flowers stressed the significance of the REALTOR® endorsement and said he will take the association’s goals of visionary leadership, integrity, credibility and innovation with him as he serves the people of Desoto County for a second term.

“The American dream of every family is to own a home,” Flowers said. “When I am re-elected to the Senate, I will continue to support initiatives that make that dream come true.”
