Insurance Commissioner George Dale’s Democratic opponent, Gary Anderson, on Monday blasted the incumbent’s acceptance of money from the insurance industry and promised not to do the same.
“It’s unethical to take money from the people you regulate,” Anderson said at a news conference at the state Capitol. “You can’t protect the pocketbook of consumers if you are in the pocketbook of insurance companies.” Anderson then signed a pledge saying he will not accept money from the insurance industry.
