Phil Bryant, currently serving as State Auditor of Mississippi, is a Republican candidate for Lt. Governor. He started his career as a Deputy Sheriff and was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives from District 59 in Rankin County in 1992, re-elected in 1995, and appointed as State Auditor by former Governor Kirk Fordice. Bryant was re-elected as State Auditor in 1999 and 2003. The Lt. Governor primary election will be held on August 7, 2007, and the general election will be held on November 6, 2007.
