Hosemann, Windsor appear to be the pacesetters…
It’s early, very early, for political prognostications in the 2007 Mississippi statewide races ? other than the governor’s race.
But in the Secretary of State’s race, it appears to me that the early leaders are Jackson attorney Delbert Hosemann for the Republicans and Corinth attorney John Windsor for the Democrats. Windsor has the backing of some of the state’s most successful trial lawyers, including the Langstons in north Mississippi. Hosemann appears to have gained some important backing from the evangelical community along with some solid financial backing.
Hosemann has a higher profile than the younger Windsor, but it doesn’t appear that money will be an issue for either of these candidates. Out of the gate, they appear to be the pacesetters in their respective parties.
