Commission: Running as Democrat is Dale’s only option

The state Elections Commission said Tuesday that Insurance Commissioner George Dale should not be allowed to seek office this year as an independent.

Last week, Dale asked a circuit court judge to allow him to seek re-election as an independent, even though Democratic Party officials said he could return to the party.
