Prosecutors Tuesday dropped one of five felony charges against Jackson Mayor Frank Melton and his two police body guards.
Prosecutors told the 11-women-one-man jury that Melton used a “Walking Tall” stick to destroy the home. The defense didn’t dispute that the apartment was damaged, but said there was no “malice,” an element that must proven for the charges to stand.
