The Jackson Crime Summit started with great fanfare on Aug 31, 2006, when about 300 gathered at the Mississippi TelCom Center, but almost eight months later, tangible results from the initiative are difficult to gauge.
Supporters say the Crime Summit has encouraged communication among neighborhood groups and identified the crime concerns of residents. Detractors say there has been a lot of talk but not enough action.
