By: Magnolia Tribune - April 6, 2007

The Clarion-Ledger, 4/6/7

New U.S. Census Bureau figure s show 6,125 Hancock Countians, 21,312 Harrison Countians and 4,994 from Jackson County had left between July 1, 2005 and July 1, 2006. Significantly, Pearl River County gained 5,000 new residents (Picayune alone doubled its 10,000 population) and Stone and George counties also showed gains.

Though Taylor found the housing aid measure to his liking, he was one of only 14 House Democrats to vote against a narrowly-passed (218-212) supplemental war appropriation that also contained $1.2 billion in aid to cities and towns struggling to repair Katrina damage.
