On Paul Gallo this morning, Senator Mike Cheney (R) from Vicksburg made his case to run for the now open Secretary of State seat being vacated by Eric Clark. Cheney is a conservative who is allied with Barbour and the Republican Party on most issues and will have a strong base of business support.
Updated: His official announcement was that he was not going to seek re-election in the Senate. Though Cheney’s announcement is not official, it certainly seems as if he’s heading in the general direction of a SOS run.
