We contacted him and he acknowledged that he did send it out. He did not do any research to determine the veracity of what was contained on the site, but thought it would be interesting information to pass along.
Keelan referenced that a Gene Sorrows was the one that contacted him. As it turns out, Gene is a Democratic operative and is apparently a pretty known quantity in Democratic circles. He apparently has done this secret recording thing a lot.
There are some MP3 recordings of the site. They were obviously done without the other callers’ consent. Several of them were made by a “Rick Edwards” who identified himself as a lobbyist for the Outdoor Amusement Business Association. Their website lists no Rick Edwards affiliated with the organization, and we are awainting a phone call from its President to see whether or not a Rick Edwards is affiliated with the organization and if so was he acting in an official capacity.
