Mayoral Candidates Vow To Bring Business To Jackson

Democrat Frank Melton and Republican Rick Whitlow are vying to take over City Hall. Both men say they have plans to bring business and people back to the capital city.

“Improving our image, making this city safe and open for business once again,” Whitlow said. “There’s lots of developers and business people that want the city to do well once they get confidence in the city leadership. Once you get that, the economic development will follow.”

“I’ve been talking to business and getting on a plane to New York and Washington to talk with them and get them to open subsidiaries in the capital city,” Melton said.

Polls are open Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
