Plaintiff: Saints GM Mickey Loomis was covering up pill abuse
NEW ORLEANS — Geoff Santini says at first he wanted to save the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints from themselves in the Vicodin controversy.
But then, the Saints former chief of security since 2000 decided to sue the team for lost wages and other damages. He claims general manager Mickey Loomis asked him to participate in a cover-up.
“I thought I had saved it. I thought we had it (the felony theft of prescription Vicodin from the Saints’ medicine cabinet and subsequent cover-up) stopped,” the ex-FBI agent said last week in his only extended interview since filing a lawsuit on April 30.
