Chizik near the top of first-year coaches
I talked to Gene Chizik by phone Tuesday, and despite the first two losses of his Auburn tenure, he sounded as calm and collected as ever.

Whatever else you say about him, add this: The head Tiger is one cool cat.
He’s also one of the most successful first-year head coaches in the country so far.
There are 22 head coaches in their first year on the job at a Football Bowl Subdivision program. Only Oregon’s Chip Kelly, at 5-1, has a better record than Chizik at 5-2.
