Storybook ending is ruined at Cotton Bowl

DALLAS — Storybook careers aren’t supposed to end this way.
In a perfect Oklahoma football world, Sam Bradford would have departed the Cotton Bowl for the final time to a thunderous standing ovation from adoring Sooners fans after directing OU to a Red River Shootout victory over bitter rival Texas.
Bradford did receive cheers Saturday. But instead of a joyful celebration, the emotion from Sooners supporters seated in the stadium’s south end zone were of sympathy as Bradford, head down, walked up the famous tunnel for what almost certainly will be his final game in an OU uniform.
