West Jones-Wayne County Reality Show Begins

One of the state’s top football rivalries is being chronicled this season in the reality television series Head to Head.

The show, sponsored by Cellular South, centers on the players and coaching staffs at Wayne County and West Jones, two of Mississippi’s top programs.

The first episode of the show aired this past weekend.

“They are basically following us around for 10 weeks,” said West Jones coach Scott Pierson. “Everybody involved with it does a great job. If you enjoy football like we do, it’s intriguing. It’s going to get even better as the season goes on.”

West Jones (2-0) is ranked No. 6 in the Super 10 and No. 1 in Class 5A. Wayne County (2-1) is No. 2 in 5A.

Pierson admits that the show can be a bit of a distraction.
