BCS can afford to pay off its opponents
There are compelling – and accurate – arguments that the U.S. Congress has more pressing matters to contend with than college football’s Bowl Championship Series.
And it’s an easy leap to dismiss Utah senator Orrin Hatch’s recent interest in the BCS – he held hearings on the matter last week – as a political ploy of preaching to the home-state choir about the slights of Mountain West Conference member Utah and nearby Boise State of the Western Athletic Conference.
