BATON ROUGE — The Ole Miss Rebels came to play Saturday afternoon at Tiger Stadium. And the 18th-ranked LSU Tigers just got played.
“They left everything on the field,” said Houston Nutt, the Rebels’ first-year coach.
Ole Miss hammered LSU 31-13, claiming its first victory over the Tigers since 2001 while gaining the inside track to the Cotton Bowl. The Rebels knocked LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee out of the game in the second quarter, shortly after taking control of the game on a perfectly executed fake-punt play and subsequent touchdown.
