Todd knows about sitting – Auburn

Journey to become Auburn’s No. 1 QB a quest of patience
AUBURN – If Kodi Burns is feeling a bit down in the dumps this week, there’s at least one player on Auburn’s roster who can empathize completely.
When Auburn goes to Starkville, Miss., Saturday to open its SEC season, Chris Todd will be the Tigers’ starting quarterback. But his two-year path to this point hasn’t been easy.
Todd chose to transfer from Texas Tech when it was clear his chances of playing were limited. He experienced a bumpy season at a Kansas junior college.
When he followed Tony Franklin to Auburn, he was expected to win the starting job in the spring. Instead, a chronic shoulder injury pushed the competition into the 2008 season. Todd finally won the job last week with a strong performance against Southern Mississippi.

Coaches say the position is his, and he needn’t worry about being kept on a “short leash,” which means Burns will be relegated to a backup role for the foreseeable future.
