Smith: Don’t expect MSU to have controversy with quarterbacks

There will be no quarterback controversy at Mississippi State.

Coach Sylvester Croom won’t allow it to happen, and don’t expect sophomore Wesley Carroll or junior college transfer Tyson Lee to be a part of it either.

One question I often hear is: “How much playing time do you expect Tyson Lee to get with the Bulldogs this season?”
So many people ask me that question because Lee, who is from Columbus, played quarterback very well at Itawamba Community College.
Croom made it plain in July at Southeastern Conference Media Days and repeated it Thursday at Mississippi State Media Day that Lee would get an opportunity to help the Bulldogs.
How much Lee will help or in what situation he will take the field remains to be seen, but it seems Croom likes Lee and wants to give him a chance as soon as possible.
