From Missy Warren McGee’s Facebook Page:
I love Hattiesburg. It is the place I call home. It is the place that has educated, protected and nurtured me. It is the place where I have worshipped and grown. Hattiesburg is where I chose to raise my kids in the hopes that they will have all the things that I had as a child: a quality education, a safe city in which to grow, opportunities for recreation and the arts, and a place to be with others who love and encourage them.
There is a new sense of enthusiasm in our city, and I believe our very best days are ahead of us.
I want to do my part during this exciting time. I want to fight for our school district and our beloved University. I want to champion the cause of economic growth and small business development. I want to advocate for our hospital and health care professionals and the many initiatives that contribute to the quality of life that we expect from our city. Most of all, I want to work to see us realize the potential which is within our grasp.
Today, I announce my candidacy for the Mississippi House of Representatives, District 102.
At this moment, we need a representative who can effectively continue advancing the cause of our city. We need someone who knows our community. We need an advocate who will put Hattiesburg first.
I am excited to have an opportunity to give back to the place that has given my family and me so much. I look forward to working alongside you, my friends and neighbors, as we each strive to contribute, in our own individual ways, to this city we love and call home.
I humbly ask you to join us in making it happen.
