Lt. Gov. Reeves Earns Support From Bully Bloc

JACKSON – Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves’ re-election bid today received an endorsement from Bully Bloc for his strong support of Mississippi’s Institutions of Higher Learning.

Bully Bloc is a coalition of Mississippi State University alumni and friends, who want to ensure the interests of Mississippi and all of higher education are advanced by elected officials.

“Bully Bloc is pleased to endorse Tate Reeves for a second term as Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi,” said Chairman Reed Nelson. “We thank him for his tremendous efforts not only in supporting Mississippi State University but also for his diligent work to advance all of higher education in Mississippi.”

Under Lt. Gov. Reeves’ leadership, Mississippi has funded public education at historic levels with a $400 million increase over the past four years. He also supported a three-year plan to responsibly address the maintenance of university campuses. He has advocated public-private partnerships to prepare Mississippi’s workforce for the jobs of tomorrow.

Lt. Gov. Reeves is a staunch advocate for research and development at university campuses. He has increased funding for Mississippi State’s agricultural research, which supports an industry vital to the state’s economy.

“I appreciate the support of Bully Bloc and champions of higher education in Mississippi,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “Our universities are key to a strong economy, which is why I have pushed to fund campuses at record levels. Mississippi universities do excellent work preparing future generations to lead.”
