Rally and march over state flag planned for Jackson
A South Carolina state representative, rapper David Banner and civil rights activist Myrlie Evers-Williams are scheduled to lead a march and rally on Sunday in support of Initiative No. 55 to remove the Confederate battle emblem from the Mississippi state flag.
The march is planned to begin at 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of J.R. Lynch and Rose streets and end at the steps on the south side of the state Capitol, where a rally will last from 3:40 p.m. to 5 p.m.
