Blogger on trial facing 55 years in prison
The trial of Pearl blogger Clayton Kelly, who was involved in the Cochran nursing home scandal last summer during the highly-charged U.S. Senate race, is expected to begin on Monday in Madison County Circuit Court.
However, a number of motions have been submitted by Kelly’s lawyer, Kevin Camp, including a motion to dismiss the indictments altogether.
Court records show Camp also requested a change a venue due to pre-trial publicity.
If Judge William Chapman denies the motions, the trial will likely begin with jury selection Tuesday morning and testimony that afternoon.
