Former City of Picayune Employee Pleads Guilty to Fraud
JACKSON, MS – State Auditor Stacey Pickering announced today that Gregory Madison Kerr, former employee of the City of Picayune, has plead guilty in the Pearl River Circuit Court.
Kerr, 49, was indicted in April of 2014 for falsifying his time sheets to the City of Picayune by reporting hours for which he did not provide services. This occurred from April 2012 through his termination on July 2, 2012.
“Mr. Kerr claimed hours that he did not work and received pay from the taxpayers of Picayune,” Auditor Pickering said. “My Office will continue to hold those that attempt to abuse the system accountable.”
Kerr has been sentenced to 5 years of non-adjudicated probation and ordered to pay $4,518.80 in fines and restitutions, including $868.80 to the City of Picayune.
