RELEASE:
Palazzo Applauds Passage of the Conservative Budget
Washington, DC – Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) released this statement following the passage of the FY2016 Budget Resolution:
“Following the first entitlement reform in nearly two decades, this conservative budget continues our commitment to get things done for the American people and put our country back on track. With today’s passage, we now have the ability to repeal Obamacare without the threat of a Democrat-filibuster. Taking care of our men and women in uniform has remained a top priority of mine, and I’m pleased to see this bill restores full defense funding and ensures our military has the tools and resources they need to do their job. The Republican budget cuts spending to ultimately pay off the national debt, while focusing on job creation and protecting hard-working Americans.”
This resolution will balance the federal budget in ten years without raising taxes– which will save taxpayers more than $5 trillion over ten years. Along with helping create 1.2 million new jobs, the budget will also provide our military personnel with the resources they need to confront threats both at home and abroad.
