Long-time aide to veteran Mississippi senator arrested on drug charges

Sen. Thad Cochran’s office manager has been arrested and charged with possession and intent to sell drugs, according to USA Today.

Fred W. Pagan, 49, was arrested after Department of Homeland Security agents detected the drug “GBL,” an ingredient of the “date rape drug,” in a package from China that was addressed to Pagan’s home. After agents and D.C. police raided Pagan’s home, USA Today reported, they also discovered a significant amount of methamphetamine.
