$400,000 spent in Biloxi mayor special election

Candidates have spent almost $400,000 on Biloxi mayor’s race

BILOXI — Nine of the 10 candidates in the April 28 special election for mayor submitted their financial-disclosure forms before the 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline, showing they’ve spent a combined $395,402 on the campaign…

…The reports cover Jan. 1 through April 18 and shows the nine candidates received a total of $318,304 in contributions.

David Bull and Pat Morris reported no campaign contributions or disbursements to date.

The candidate with the most contributions was Andrew “FoFo” Gilich, who collected $136,913. He listed 128 donations plus a $40,000 loan to himself. His expenditures were $129,484 to Prime Time Agency in Gulfport for advertising and $12,800 to MRI in Gulf Breeze, Ala., for research.

Winfield “Windy” Swetman III spent $188,138 — the most money in the campaign.
