State Sen. Michael Watson leads South MS Senate delegation with campaign COH

By: Magnolia Tribune - February 9, 2015

Watson builds a $150,000 war chest, the biggest among Mississippi Senate delegation

South Mississippi’s 10 state senators raised more than $285,000 in campaign contributions in 2014 and had little to spend it on other than offices and youth sports teams.

With all of them likely running for some office, expect them to raise even more and spend much more in the coming months.

Sen. Michael Watson, R-Pascagoula, was in the best shape with $152,375 on hand after raising $51,757 last year. Sen. Sean Tindell, R-Gulfport, had $91,617 on hand after raising $43,875….

…Tindell also benefited greatly from Coast donors, raising more than $31,000 mostly in Harrison County.

Other candidates relied heavily on their own money. Angela Burks Hill, R-Picayune, for example, put up $15,000 toward her total of $25,000. She apparently started the year at zero and with $349.98 in spending, finished with $24,706 on hand.
