Union retiree group endorses Childers
The Alliance for Retired Americans has endorsed Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Travis Childers.
The group, with more than 4 million members, includes retired trade union workers and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. Childers, a former U.S. representative, said he has a 94-percent voting grade from the group for fighting against Social Security privatization, raising the retirement age and cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.
