Sens. Trent Lott, John Breaux hired by Russian bank to lobby against U.S. sanctions
Former Sens. Trent Lott (R, Miss.), and John Breaux (D, La.) have been hired by a Russian bank to lobby against U.S. sanctions placed on Russian companies earlier this year.
According to a story from The Center for Public Integrity, the bank that hired Lott and Breaux, Gazprombank, is affiliated with Gazprom, the Russian energy company that controls much of Europe’s natural gas.
The bank is one of the targets of U.S. sanctions put in place after Russian separatists’ military actions in Ukraine and Russia’s annexation of Crimea.
