Former McDaniel co-counsel representing John Mary
Of the four men arrested in relation to the Rose Cochran photo scandal, the one with possibly the closest personal connection to state Sen. Chris McDaniel has hired an attorney also closely tied to the candidate.
Hattiesburg Doug Lee is representing John Mary, who is also known as John Bert and who once co-hosted The Right Side radio program with McDaniel. Lee and McDaniel have been colleagues and friends for years.
The two were co-counsel in the 2010 lawsuit against Obamacare. This is the lawsuit that McDaniel has repeatedly referenced during his campaign to show how he has fought harder against the president’s health care reforms than his GOP primary opponent, incumbent U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran.
