Janus pleads guilty to one count of federal indictment
Former D’Iberville City Manager Michael Janus changed his plea on Count 2, (fraud) to guilty on Tuesday afternoon at U.S. District Court in Hattiesburg.
He is in front of U.S. District Judge Keith Starrett with his attorney, Cliff Johnson.
Janus has not changed his not guilty plea on Counts 1, 3, 4 and 5.
Janus previously admitted to FBI agents that he did “wrong” as city manager when he arranged to benefit from a contract that he gave business partner Scott Walker. Walker earned a $180,000 consulting fee on the contract. The government alleges Janus also benefitted from the arrangement.
